A very powerful and atmospheric painting of fishermen and their boats weathering a passing storm and preparing for sea. This painting has superb recession and a real sense of movement, there is a lot going on in the picture with several shadowy figures and flotsam on the shore. It is initialed and dated however the initials are very indistinct but the date of 1882 can be read.
