A Fine painting in beautiful condition by an accomplished artist of the period. Phillip Mitchell was a landscape painter who served in the navy and later settled in Plymouth, Devon. He was a member of the R.I. and also the N.W.S. some of his work is on display in the Exeter museum and also Plymouth city library. Faintly signed lower right. Possibly Dartmoor in the distance or could be of Derbyshire where he was also known to have painted.
